The ALPINESTARS TECH-AIR Tech-Air 3 v2 is a fully autonomous active airbag system designed to operate without external motorcycle connections or sensors. Six integrated sensors, including accelerometers and gyroscopes, monitor riding dynamics and can activate the airbag even when the motorcycle is stopped. The system arms automatically through the magnetic zip closure.

Its packable design allows the vest to be stored in a backpack, saddle bag, top case, or pannier when not in use. The stretch nylon canvas outer chassis features a ribbed bomber collar and elasticated side panels for comfort and expansion volume. A center zipper with internal magnet snap buttons holds the chest bladder in position while riding and allows it to be folded back and concealed when not in use.

Functional storage includes two zippered hand pockets, two chest pockets, a sunglasses channel in the right chest pocket, and a concealed inner pocket. A waist loop provides a place to attach gloves or other items. The front LED display shows airbag operational status, while its haptic alert confirms when the system is armed and warns when the battery is low.

Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 connectivity works with the Tech-Air App to monitor system and battery status, review rides through MyRide, verify installed software, and access software updates. The integrated lithium-ion battery provides up to 40 hours of battery life and recharges in approximately four hours. The canvas vest is washable after the electronics are removed.
