The Alpinestars Tech-Air Stella Tech-Air 3 is a lightweight, autonomous airbag system designed for touring riders, urban commuters, and light off-road adventure riders. It can be worn over or under a motorcycle jacket, including compatible Alpinestars jackets as well as leather or textile jackets with sufficient room for airbag inflation.

The wearable Tech-Air system uses the Tech-Air 5 Street crash detection algorithm and artificial intelligence to monitor riding conditions and determine when to deploy the airbag. Six integrated sensors—three accelerometers and three gyroscopes—support crash monitoring in dynamic street riding scenarios, including situations when the motorcycle is stopped. The system has been developed using more than 2 million kilometers of riding data and over 2,000 crashes.

When the system detects the start of a crash, it activates the protective airbag in milliseconds, depending on airbag size. Once inflated, the airbag covers the rider’s full chest and full back for upper-body protection. An integrated back protector pocket can accommodate additional passive back protection. The front LED display shows operational status, while the haptic alert vibrates to confirm that the system is armed and alerts the rider when the battery is running low.

Bluetooth connectivity with the Tech-Air App allows riders to monitor system and battery status and access a detailed ride map through MyRide. The black, medium-size system is identified by part number 6518322-10A-M.
