The Alpinestars Tech-Air Stella Tech-Air 3 is a lightweight, autonomous motorcycle airbag system designed for touring riders, urban commuters, and light off-road adventure riding. It can be worn over or under a motorcycle jacket, including compatible Alpinestars jackets, leather jackets, or textile jackets with sufficient room for airbag inflation.

The wearable Tech-Air system uses the Tech-Air 5 Street crash detection algorithm and six integrated sensors, including three accelerometers and three gyroscopes, to monitor dynamic street riding scenarios. The system is designed to detect dangerous situations such as lowside and highside crashes, even when the motorcycle is stopped, and activate the protective airbag in milliseconds when a crash begins.

Once inflated, the airbag provides upper-body protection covering the rider’s full chest and back. An integrated pocket on the back can accommodate additional passive back protection. An LED display on the front chest shows operational status, while the haptic alert provides vibration feedback when the system is armed and warns when the battery is running low.

Bluetooth connectivity with the Tech-Air App allows riders to monitor system operation and battery status, while the MyRide feature provides a detailed map of the ride. The crash detection algorithm was developed using more than 2 million kilometers of riding data and over 2,000 crashes.
