The Alpinestars Tech-Air 3 v2 Leather Vest is a fully autonomous active airbag system designed to operate without external motorcycle connections or sensors. Six integrated sensors—three accelerometers and three gyroscopes—monitor riding conditions, including situations when stopped, to support crash detection. The system activates automatically through the magnetic zip closure.

Constructed with cow leather and ribbed leather elasticated side panels, the vest provides comfort and expansion volume. Perforated upper chest and shoulder panels support airflow, while the center zipper and internal magnetic snap buttons help hold the chest bladder in place while riding and conceal it when not in use. The packable design allows storage in a backpack, saddle bag, top case, or pannier.

Features include two zippered hand pockets, two zippered chest pockets, a sunglasses channel on the right chest, an inner concealed pocket, and a waist loop for attaching gloves or other items. A concealed LED display with reflective backing shows the system's operational status, while the integrated haptic alert confirms when the system is armed and warns when battery power is low.

The compact Pro 2nd Generation electronic control unit connects to the Tech-Air App through Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 for monitoring operational and battery status, viewing rides through MyRide, and checking or updating system software. An integrated lithium-ion battery provides up to 40 hours of battery life and recharges in approximately 4 hours. The system is certified to function between -20°C and +40°C, and the gas inflator housing, electronic wiring, and airbag are removable. The vest should be cleaned with a leather cleaner when needed.
