The Alpinestars Tech-Air 3 v2 Canvas Vest is a fully autonomous active airbag system designed to operate without external motorcycle connections or sensors. Six integrated sensors—three accelerometers and three gyroscopes—monitor riding conditions and can activate the airbag automatically through the magnetic zip closure, including when the motorcycle is stopped.

Its packable design allows the vest to be stored in a backpack, saddle bag, top case, or pannier when not in use. The stretch nylon canvas outer chassis features a ribbed bomber collar and elasticated side panels for comfort and expansion volume. A center zipper and internal magnetic snap buttons help hold the chest bladder in position while riding and conceal it when the system is not in use.

Practical storage includes two zippered hand pockets, two chest pockets, a sunglasses channel on the right chest pocket, and an inner concealed pocket. A waist loop provides a place to attach gloves or other items. The front LED display indicates operational status, while its haptic alert confirms when the system is armed and warns when the battery is running low.

The integrated lithium-ion battery provides up to 40 hours of battery life and requires approximately four hours to recharge. Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 connectivity with the Tech-Air App allows riders to monitor system and battery status, view ride maps through MyRide, and check or update system software. The gas inflator housing, electronic wiring, and airbag are removable, and the canvas vest is washable after the electronics are removed. The vest is designed for all-weather performance, with ECU seal protection certified for operation between -4°F and 104°F.
