The Alpinestars Tech-Air 3 v2 Canvas Vest is a fully autonomous active airbag system designed to monitor riding conditions without external motorcycle connections or sensors. Six integrated sensors, including accelerometers and gyroscopes, provide crash monitoring during dynamic riding situations and while stopped. The system activates automatically through its magnetic zipper closure.

Its packable design allows the vest to be stored in a backpack, saddlebag, top case, or pannier when not in use. The stretch nylon canvas outer chassis features a ribbed bomber collar and elasticated side panels for comfort and expansion. A center zipper and internal magnetic snap buttons help secure the chest bladder across the chest while riding and fold it away when not riding.

Practical storage includes two zippered hand pockets, two chest pockets, a sunglasses channel in the right chest pocket, and a concealed inner pocket. A waist loop provides a place to attach gloves or other items. The front LED display shows operational status, while its haptic alert confirms when the system is armed and warns when the battery is running low.

The integrated lithium-ion battery provides up to 40 hours of battery life and requires approximately four hours to recharge. Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 connectivity with the Tech-Air App enables monitoring of system and battery status, access to MyRide ride maps, and software updates. The vest includes ECU seal protection for all-weather performance between -4°F and 104°F. The gas inflator housing, electronic wiring, and airbag are removable, and the canvas vest is washable when the electronics are removed.
