The Alpinestars Tech-Air 3 is a lightweight, autonomous motorcycle airbag system designed for touring riders, urban commuters, and light off-road adventure riders. It can be worn over or under a motorcycle jacket, including compatible Alpinestars jackets as well as leather or textile jackets with sufficient room to accommodate airbag inflation.

Using the Tech-Air 5 Street crash detection algorithm, the system applies artificial intelligence to monitor riding conditions and identify crashes or dangerous situations such as lowsides and highsides. Six integrated sensors—three accelerometers and three gyroscopes—support crash monitoring across dynamic street riding scenarios, including situations when the motorcycle is stopped. When a crash is detected, the protective airbag activates in milliseconds, depending on airbag size.

Once inflated, the airbag provides full upper-body coverage across the rider’s chest and back. An integrated back protector pocket can accommodate additional passive back protection. The front LED display shows operational status, while its haptic alert vibrates to confirm that the system is armed and warns the rider when the battery is running low.

Bluetooth connectivity with the Tech-Air App allows riders to monitor system operation and battery status and view a detailed ride map through MyRide. The crash detection algorithm was developed using more than 2 million kilometers of riding data and over 2,000 crashes. This Tech-Air 3 system is finished in black and sized Large.
